What's it called and what do you do with it?

When I started at Grandiflora I had no idea what these were called...................

I'm sure all our blog readers are up on their decorating terms, but if you don't know what this is called, it's a CLOCHE (pronounced closh with a long o).

Now....................what do you do with it? They always look so beautifully displayed in the store (trust me, these Grandiflora Girls know how to do things right!!), but what do I do with it at my house? Well here goes a Grandiflora blog tutorial..............................

Generally the cloche should sit on a plate, bowl or pedestal. Ours is sitting on a pretty green plate (we're going for the spring look). Add a small, simple pot.........

To ours, we've added a small fern to the pot, you can put any silk green, or flower in your pot, we have such a great variety to choose from in our store. Then, we added a small bird,(again, we have so many to choose from) and nest..............................

We tucked in a small sunflower for a pop of color, sprinkled some small stones and added a couple moss mounds...................................

To finish off our display, we propped up the nest, made sure the sunflower poked in just right, and rolled up a pretty yellow placemat to complete it all.

The Grandiflora Girls are great at helping you put things together, so pop on in and we'll help you add a touch of spring to your home. Who knows - maybe you'll learn a new word like I did!!

Spruce up your coffee tables

Because we want to keep you coming back to our blog, we are committed to posting at least 2-3 times a week. Sometimes there will be new and exciting things to share. Soon we will have some "how to's" for you...................but for today, we have tables. I know at first it doesn't sound very exciting - but my guess is, everyone has at least one in their home :-).

Just look at these pictures and then look at your tables. Could they use a new little something to spruce them up? It's amazing how just a new green frame like the one on the table below could add a touch of spring, and make it fun to look at again! These frames come in several different sizes and are just in from Two's Company. My friend calls this color "happy green" - I think I'd have to agree!

Another fun item to add is always a new touch of greens. We recently received these cute little baskets already filled with greens, so you don't even have to put anything together. Just pick it up at the store and take it home and add it to your table!! No trying to insert green foam into a basket and making the plant sit right............ just buy it, take it home, and plunk it down (my own term :-) - immediate gratification!

If elegant is more your style, how about a new lamp or some great decorative balls to add to a bowl, or dish you have? And, if you happen to be one of those that doesn't have a table in your house - this great little metal half table with glass top is fabulous!

Next week we hope to get to some decorating for you, but we promise to blog new pictures to keep you coming back.

DON'T FORGET TO EMAIL US TO ENTER OUR DRAWING - DEADLINE IS MARCH 30TH!

It's officially spring on Friday!

Can you believe it - we've survived the winter - mostly! Hopefully we won't see anymore snow! Here at Grandiflora we are so ready for spring - inside and out! Today I'll share with you the outside - tomorrow the inside! The girls spent hours sprucing up the garden with some beautiful pots, fun garden stakes, topiaries and some new plants. You really must come see! They also purchased some "frost-proof" pots - which would've been helpful this past winter!! :-) Here are some of the pots being loaded onto the good ol' faithful pickup!

Here's Trisha working hard - believe it not we got them all unloaded without getting wet!! She even had to take her coat off because the sun came out and it was warm - a new sensation!!

Personally, I think these are beautiful! You have to see them to appreciate the coloring - dark red/burgandy with a blackish/iridescent color on top!

Don't you love how cheery the blues and turquoises are?

Reds anyone? It happens to be my favorite color!

If you come through our garden, you will be greeted by this new fountain! I love the sound of water running - it's so relaxing. We only received one of these so you'd better get in before someone else nabs it!

Hope you've enjoyed the garden tour.......................please come in and check it out, it's much better in person!
