When on a Road Trip...Where to stay? A Historical Landmark of course!

SO, when you are on a road trip....for a very special occasion...you must really see the sights right? Well, when we travelled to Spokane for The Farm Chicks Show http://www.thefarmchicks.com we decided to stay once again at The Davenport Hotel http://www.thedavenporthotel.com Here are a few lovely shots of the interior.
I highly recommend staying there if you get the chance.

As impressive as these photos are...it doesn't even scratch the surface of how grand this hotel truly is! Even if you can't stay...make sure you stop by and browse through the NUMEROUS ballrooms and take the time to look at the photos of the hotels' history.

This hotel is magnificent in every way. The service is impeccable, the resaurants phenomenal, and the architecture unbelievable. The renovation is impeccable!!! Make sure you look at the photos on the second floor "veranda".

pictured: La Von (Grandiflora: owner) Kim (floor manager), Jan (owner), Me (Trish, owner :o) Haa haa haa....can you tell the 3 of us owners are related? Yellow....hmmm.....
As you can see, we were very tired....but happy to be at our hotel for the night....after all, we needed to rest up for our second day of shopping at THE FARM CHICKS SHOW!!!
More to come....
Cheers Trish :)

Ok, folks. I promised more shots of the show! If you've been following along on our treck east of the mountains to Spokane Washington, you know that we attended the Farm Chicks show a few weekends ago. http://www.thefarmchicks.com Here is a lovely booth filled to the gills with shabby goodness! See that dress? The top is made from cupcakes liners!!! Fun huh?

That whole French country/Paris apartment Style was a huge look at the show! So many lovelies to choose from!!! Have you been to the store lately to see our newest looks in this style??? Oh my goodness...if this look is for you then you'd better stop by soon and see our newest goodies! I can let you in on this little secret....we will be growing this look a whole lot more the closer we get to the Holidays!!! Keep checking back for further updates!

One never knew what they would find around every corner....but a lovely lady we met on our way to the car had more than a little fun shopping for all things subdued, vintage, and adorable...this next picture is of her treasures:

Farm Chick Road Trip Part 2

Let me just say this, I've never been to a show quite like this! Don't get me wrong...we've attended the Farm Chicks show before...but there is just something about this "SWEET" little show that just has heart and soul!
The wild and funky displays are just so fun to sit and stare at! I mean...who thinks of creating a huge cake out of old junk? I was pretty impressed with that; it just made me smile....it released my inner creativity. I know that sounds hokey...but it made me look at all the junk in a new way. If this was a sneaky sales tactic, it worked! I was gathering junk all day (and the next!) thinking of what I could come up with for store displays and home decor alike!

Well, next time I'll bring a bigger truck like this one; for now the Suburban with third seat removed would have to do!

Jan, Kim, and La Von and I were thrilled that the weather was fantastic for standing in this line:

I have to tell you that the admission price of $7.00 for one day and $10.00 for two days was TOTALLY WORTH IT!!! The line wasn't that bad either as we were surrounded by creative friends from around the Pacific Northwest. Everyone was laughing and excited. We saw a ton of folks from Lynden, and said next year we should start a caravan!!! :o)
I'll keep updating with more pictures soon....I think you'll LOVE seeing what the booths looked like, the great antiques and craft ideas....you name it, they had it!
See you soon!
Cheers, and happy weekend!
Trish ;o)

How Do We Get Our Inspiration??? ROAD TRIPS!

Hey everyone! I am Trisha, one of the owners at Grandiflora. I often get asked how we get our inspiration. Well, the simple answer is "We get out there and see what everyone else is up to!" This could be via the internet, at trade shows, in books or magazines, and in this case WE WENT ON A ROAD TRIP TO THE FARM CHICKS ANTIQE SHOW in lovely Spokane, Washington! http://www.thefarmchicks.com
This is such a fun show to attend, and SO inspirational! The picture you see above is of my sister and partner La Von, and Kim our floor manager. My mother Jan ( and other partner ) went with us as well. The Farm Chicks Show is like nothing else you've ever seen before. It is a show with true heart and soul. I am going to be blogging about this trip for the next few days to show you what the show is all about. In the meantime, you can follow the link above to go and find out some of the details for yourself. You have one whole year to plan for this....it is usually the first weekend in June.

We are "thinking" about going again next year....possibly as vendors....maybe just as shoppers....but most deffinately as a huge group since we have been so ON FIRE about the show...everyone we speak to is catching the fever!

I hope you will enjoy this blogging adventure we are about to embark on...I am looking forward to sharing a TON of lovely photos of some of the coolest antiques and crafts you've ever seen!

I'll see you again soon!
Cheers,
Trish :o)

New Bling

Need a little pick me up? (who doesn't in this weather?)

We just received these toggle necklaces................
For just under $8 you can get an adorable new "gotta have it" necklace. Each toggle charm you purchase has two sides to it - so if your mood changes, so can your necklace!!

These would make an AWESOME gift for a grad!! But, you had better come in soon, because these things are flying out the door. Which reminds me - I have to get one yet!!

The sun is coming.................rumor has it!
